Website feedback?

The website for my freelance commercial writing business is up, and I've incorporated some useful feedback from my brother strangething. If you have a minute, take a look and tell me what you think.

All feedback welcome, including simply "It looks fine/weird/whatever on my computer."

Next step is going to be portfolio building. I thought I might approach some of the nonprofits in town and see if they could use some pro bono writing services, in exchange for letting me use the work as a sample...

Looking good!

Clean and simple, so the client can concentrate.

I like the description of your skills, especially that you put Learning (listening) first.

I don't know how most people will react to the concept of "lesson plans" - some will love the idea, while others might get freaked out at the emotional connection with school. It might be that you need that phrase in order to get Your Right People; it's possibly worth considering, which isn't to say that it needs changing, because I don't know that :)

I really like that the writing is clear, simple, intelligent and has a dash of humour in there, too.

Have you seen www.copylicious.com? Her style's really different than yours, though she has a lot to say about what clients need from freelance copy writers that you might enjoy.

Steven Washer at www.brainyvideo.com has loads of cool info about the impact video has on clients, too. I bet you could help people develop video scripts for their websites (and do the odd one here and there yourself).

Anyway, impressive stuff! :)

This is Shelby.

Apologies for the (very) late comment. I think your page is very well done and you express yourself and what you havae to offer clearly. The samples page (and its content) strike me as exactly what I would look for if I heard of freelance writing but wasn't sure if I needed it. (You mean our copy is supposed to make sense? And this can be done? Open up the checkbook!)

Best of luck!
